"Ted Arman has big plans for his Iron Mountain Mine and the acidic water that seeps from the federal Superfund site.

They include a return to mineral mining at the location nine miles northwest of Redding, Calif., and a 200-foot Italian marble statue of Jesus Christ atop the 3,500-foot mountain that Arman says would be the largest in the world. Next to the steel-framed Christ would stand a 100-foot crucifix. Arman said the cross also would be lit up at night.

"I hope to make the property a Garden of Eden," Arman said."

Gee, did the Garden of Eden have a 200-ft Jesus statue and a 100-ft cross in it? I did not know that.....

Must I explain EVERYTHING to you, DDawg?

Of course the talking snake was in on it!  What they failed to add to the story was that 'back then', the snakes had arms and legs and hands and feetsies.  The snake HELPED to build the stuff.

Just ask me if you need to know anything else!  I'm here for ya!

thanks Filly -- some of this theological stuff is really over my head -- like about 200 feet over it!

Another question.... why is bigger so much better in Christianity? Why do the crosses and Jesus statues have to be gigantic? Wouldn't normal-sized ones be just as good? Wasn't Jesus all about helping the little people, the "least of these"?

Oh, you're more than welcome, and I DO understand about it being so confusing.  Like I said..I'm here for ya.

Now, Christianity is, has been, and always will be dillusional with the bigger and better thingie.  You see....everything is bigger and better in TEXAS.  I know, I know, they confuse the two...but it really isn't that hard to remember if you keep your facts straight!

When Jesus said that they should help the little people, he must not have realized that he was talking to 'big heads'.  They thought they were giants themselves.

Also, when the 'big heads' realized that they would be helping the little people, they just couldn't fathom that Jesus actually 'meant' it.  It had to have been a joke...I mean come on....they were better than everyone else, remember?

Soooooooooooo, as time went on...they figured that they would build EVERYTHING that they could BIGGER than anything had ever been built.  ONLY the 'big heads' were in on this group...and they felt that if they made everything BIGGER, then the people who were not in their group would definitely, at least LOOK littler.

Got it?
