Just now...I'm sitting here in my office, and the doorbell rang. No one comes out here!!
I'm home alone, and I won't ever answer the door if I don't know who it is.
Sooo, the doorbell rang, and I get up and walk into the kitchen area so I can see out the window towards the drive.
There's a van, with one person sitting in it. I don't go to the door. Then, a few minutes later, these two people start walking back to the van...and they leave.
I wait a bit, and open the front door. Laying on the bench on the front porch is a book. "The WatchTower" Announcing Jehovah's Kingdom!
It's the February 1, 2008 edition. |

Tell me about it!
You may remember me telling you quite awhile back, about my last experience with them.
I lived alone in my house (this was well before hubby and I started dating, and I was a salesrep).
It was a Saturday afternoon, the doorbell rang, and I answered. There they were, about three of them. They were kind, and asked if I would give them about 45 minutes of my time so that they could tell me about their belief system.
I said "Of course, as long as I get the first 45 minutes to tell y'all about mine".
They left! |

yeah, they really don't wanna hear about yours..... or anybody else's....
I also had a (lone) JW stalk me relentlessly some years back, when I lived in an isolated rural area... it creeped me out.
They should know by now that the in-yer-face tactics really don't work that well. _________________ "Faith is believing what you know ain't so." - Mark Twain |

Amazingly, I've never had a JW ring my doorbell. I do find it amazing because they are all over my neighborhood. They just seem to avoid my street, which is made up of 6-family apartment houses, and many of the apartments are domiciles of very strange people. My guess is a few JWs entered one of the buildings and were never seen again.
(Cue theremin music.)
I had a friend who practiced transcendental meditation. He claimed that if JWs came to his door, they'd immediately leave when he told them he was into TM. Maybe they equate it with devil worship?
