I don't know what it is about the word, but I just can't seem to like the word "Atheist". I wonder why that is? Perhaps it's the negative conotation that I get from it. (Or is 'vibes' the proper word)?

I love "Free Thinker". Heck, I just love anyone who will think! LOL!

I think that media and culture and religious folks have made "atheist" into a negative-sounding word (kinda like 'liberal" or "feminist"). All it really means is "not theist." It's a perfectly good word, but a negative connotation has become grafted onto it by folks who disagree with the ideas it represents.

I call myself an atheist, but also a freethinker, a humanist, a rationalist, a skeptic, a doubter....

Seriously though, you are correct! Society whacks out a lot of things with their descriptions, thought processes (or lack there of).
