No. Why do you ask?
You don't have to travel to Jordan to find out what the religious makeup of the country is. The CIA factbook and Wikipedia are two sources that I used.
You said "there are just as many christians and jews there as there are muslims". According to mutiple sources that is not true, and I don't have to travel to Jordan to discover that fact. Jordan is over 90% Muslim. |
First off wikipedia is junk...i can go and make a page over there and put just about anything i want and it will stand for a couple of weeks...
CIA factbook while fairly accurate...isn't always...but besides the point...Jordan is not 90% muslim...for one thing...CIA factbook does not count those who have dual citizenship in both Jordan and Israel as part of the Jordanian population...when you factor that in...it really changes the make up...
You also have many people there like here...they claim the most recognized religion as theirs but they in no way practise it...they are more along the line of atheist...
but this is all stuff you would have to see to understand...what is written on both sites are flat black and white statistics...life in Jordan is far from that...there is a very large gray area that they do not take into consideration. |

| Quote: | The Muslim population of Jordan is over 90 percent. If you want to lower it to 60 percent, which is more in line with what you said when you said the number of Muslims and non-Muslims were about the same, then you would have to increase the non-Muslim population by 50 percent (of the total population). According to the CIA Factbook, the population of Jordan is 5,906,760 people. Are you trying to say that the number of people holding dual citizenship and weren't counted is 2,953,380 people??
|
I am one of many...many american wives to jordanian men(well ex wife now) that hold dual citizenship...i was not counted in their population...
Many many people hold both Israeli citizenship and Jordanian citizenship so that they can have their businesses in Jordanian...(majority of business in Jordan are Jew owned...another little tid bit of info many people don't know) ...they are not counted as jordanian residents...
again you would be surprised the number of people who have dual citizenship in Jordan...esp. those that are israeli by birth. |

Feel free to back your numbers up with evidence.

No, they just aren't as serious about the religion as the fundies. Secularism is the reason why and it's also the reason why these type of religious people don't go and kill other people for their religion.

You are just wrong. The statistical make-up of a country aren't something you have to experience to understand. It only takes a bit of research to find the facts. _________________ "Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities." – Voltaire. |
