| Q! You're in a good mood tonight! How come (besides the fact that it's Friday)? |

Peace and quiet, my friend. I'm apartment-sitting for a pal (only two cats instead of six to care for) and the livin' is easy.
Hey, did you know that TWO people on the CTV religion board referred to you as "classy" today? That's a lot to live up to...especially for you. |

I'll say! I guess they didn't read any of my running feud posts with corrina.
Know what? I feel too good to talk to you tonight. I'm going to go talk to someone who isn't me. And I'm feeling good enough to ask if that's OK with you before I do it. |

My, that is classy of you! Thinking of my feelings!
Vaya con Dios, my friend. Enjoy your night. |

Bush pardoned Scooter Libby. I'm not surprised, but I'm ill nevertheless. _________________ "I know not all that may be coming, but be it what it will, I'll go to it laughing." -- Melville |

Q, try to remember we only have 500-some more days of that jerk's presidency.
Ohhhhh...waaaiiitttt...that's a LOT. Now I'm really depressed.
I want to be happy. I'm celebrating the fact that I don't have to go back to work until July 16. I don't have any actual plans for this leg of my vacation, so I can read and relax and do whatever I want. I have the new Einstein bio. My spouse just purchased the "Planet Earth" BBC series.
I just want to have 10 or so days without having to think about the state of the world in general and this country in particular. Is that so selfish? |

If that's selfish, then selfish is good, imo. I just came off a week's vacation myself. Went camping, hiking and canoeing, and forgot about the world for a little while. Went to town to have dinner and saw the Scooter story on the news last week. Not surprised, and I didn't let it affect my peace of mind. I already knew Bush was a scumbag, and this is just more of the same. I can't let it bother me too much. Too many pretty sunsets, playful dogs, rushing streams, good meals and chirping crickets still left to enjoy...
Quis, enjoy your vacation. Not to worry, the world will still be a mess when you get back. |

Dawg, I'm glad you had a great trip! (I just responded to you on another thread on this board, but I'll cover both bases here!). The saddest thing about the Libby commutation was that it was unsurprising.
Isn't this the kind of abuse of power that would have sent people to the streets a few decades ago?
I'm glad you got away from it all, and had such a wonderful time.
I"m off and on the boards this week. I'm involved in the new Einstein biography by Walter Isaacson; dificult to put down and highly recommended.
Welcome back!
